How to Still Be a Part of the Lakeland Cheerleading Action When Injured

Injuries are an unfortunate part of the Lakeland cheerleading lifestyle. While it is certainly possible to avoid them as long as you take the proper safety measures, things happen, and you may accidentally get injured. They’re no fun at all, especially at the height of the cheer season, as this inhibits you from joining in practice.

What’s even worse is that being injured means that when you finally recover, depending on how long you were out of commission for, you might find yourself very far behind and it might be hard for you to catch up. However, while being injured and out on the sidelines might not be ideal, there are still ways that you can be a part of the team. Read on to find out what they are.

You might not be able to practice, but your presence counts

It might seem pretty bleak right now, but you shouldn’t let that bring you down. While you have the option to stay at home, you should still go over to practice and support everybody in any way that you can. This shows everybody that you’re still willing to be a part of the team, and that despite hardships and injury, you’re putting in the effort to be a part of the team.

You can help out by being an impromptu manager and handling paperwork, or you can help bring water to the team, or help arrange or put away poms. Sometimes your help can take the form of something as simple as moral support and cheering on the team. Remember, every single thing counts.

Even though you can’t practice, pay attention during training

While it is currently difficult for you to be out there and practicing, you shouldn’t allow yourself to grow complacent. While the others are practicing, take the time to memorize and note the routine, especially any new additions they may be putting in. Pay extra attention to the routines that involve your position.

Listen to the music, try to memorize it so that you can keep it in your head while you map out the routine and movements in your head. This helps a lot, so that when you’ve finally recovered, you’ll have little difficulty transitioning back into any new routines.

Overall, there is no denying that getting injured during Lakeland cheerleading is something that ideally, you’d like to avoid. However, on the rare occasion that it does happen, it doesn’t mean the end of your cheer season. Be there for your team in spirit, and observe the routines, and when you’re all recovered, you bounce back into the flow of things, no problem.
