If this is your first time being a part of a Lakeland cheerleading season, you might be excited about plenty of things that you’re going to have the opportunity to experience, one of them being the traveling that you’re going to be doing with your cheer team.
Cheer meets, competitions, cheer camp, there’s going to be plenty of opportunities for you to travel with your cheer team, and you’re going to have a lot of fun. However, when the novelty wears off, and it’s back to business, you may find it rather stressful to deal with traveling logistics while worrying about the competition.
If you find yourself at this stage, here are some simple tips to help you deal with the specifics of Lakeland cheerleading traveling without having to stress yourself out too much.
Make a list
One thing you should do when getting yourself ready for a cheer trip is to make a list of things that need to be done for the trip to go well. This includes planning out the itinerary, and what you’re going to need to accomplish these things.
If you’re traveling during the summer, don’t forget to pack essentials like sunglasses and sunblock to protect your eyes and your skin from the harsh rays of the sun. If you’re planning for an overnight trip, make sure you have enough clothing to last you the trip.
However, while it’s important that you have everything you need for the trip, make sure that you don’t end up packing more than you’re going to need.
Don’t forget that you’re going to be traveling with the rest of your team, so you can’t pack your entire wardrobe into your transportation and not leave room for everybody else’s things. Take note of only the things you’re going to need.
Remember that you’re all traveling for a cheerleading competition, not a vacation. While it’s great to have fun with your team, the main goal is to focus on the cheerleading competition.
Get there early
When it comes to meeting the rest of your team, it’s always a good practice to get there earlier than the agreed upon time. Meeting up earlier gives you and your team enough time to sort out final plans and make sure that everybody is accounted for.
It’s always much better to make sure that there’s plenty of extra time before leaving rather than being late and scrambling to make sure that everybody’s there at the last minute. A great start to a Lakeland cheerleading trip can lead to a pleasant cheerleading trip and competition.
