What to Do if Your Lakeland Cheerleading Routine Isn’t Going Well

Planning a Lakeland cheerleading routine takes a lot of work. Planning how an entire routine goes together as a whole is difficult, and as a result, it might not always go according to plan. When that happens, you might be experiencing feelings of frustration and anger, and that’s okay. Whether you’re a coach or a head cheerleader, this is a lot of work to put in to make sure that everything goes according to plan.

However, it’s important to remember that it isn’t the end of the world if the routine doesn’t go according to plan. After all, that’s why you plan your routines at the beginning of the season, so that when it comes to the meets, everything is absolutely perfect. However, that perfection is still quite a ways down the road.

You’re currently at the stage where you’re feeling frustrated because the routine that you thought was right turns out to lack a certain something. Don’t despair, it’s not the end of the world. Here are some things that you can do to help you if your cheerleading routine doesn’t go according to plan.

Ask for a fresh perspective

A fresh perspective is always a huge help when it comes to planning a cheer routine. Being so close to the routine can make you blind to any flaws that the routine might have. Having a fresh pair of eyes can help you realize something that just might tie the whole thing together. Don’t be scared to ask for a second opinion.

Check out the Internet for some ideas

In this age of technology, there are plenty of resources at your disposal. Don’t be afraid to draw inspiration from sources on the Internet. Watch cheerleading videos online, and see if there’s something there that you can use in your own routine. As much as possible, don’t copy the moves, just use them as inspiration that you can put your own unique touch on.

If you feel like the entire routine has to be scrapped, don’t be afraid to do so

After putting so much work into a failed routine, you might be hesitant to scrap your entire cheer routine. However, you shouldn’t be afraid to scrap the whole thing and start from scratch. There may be some moves or stunts that you can re-incorporate, but if you feel the need to start from the beginning, then go ahead and do it. Even if you’re only changing parts of your routine, don’t be afraid to change these parts. Change is a good thing.

When in doubt, ask the team

If you’re at a loss on why the routine isn’t going well, then ask the team what they think of the routine. These are the Lakeland cheerleading athletes who have to perform these routines, and they may have a better idea on why it isn’t working out the way you intended.
